Podiatry is recognized by pharmaceutical companies as an excellent investigational arena for many medications and medical devices to improve foot health. Ashton Podiatry podiatrists participate in studies that include post operative pain management, fungal nail treatments, diabetic wounds, plantar fasciitis, and many other categories. Many national pharmaceutical companies contact us to participate in studies because of our doctor’s outstanding dedication to the success of a study.

Many study sponsors compensate for patient’s time while participating in a study. The study drug, or study medical device as well as the study related procedures and visits will be provided at no cost to you or your insurance . The details are discussed prior to your participation.Study procedures

All studies have an inclusion and exclusion list of criteria. On your screening visit it will be determined through detailed medical history and examination as to whether your condition qualifies for a particular study. A patient must meet all enrollment requirements and not be excluded for other medical reasons. Our physicians make sure the volunteers for each study are clinically suited for that study.

We have a Study Staff that works with the doctor to complete each clinical study. The Study Coordinator organizes the completion and presentation of the data. All of the Study Staff have extensive training to ensure that studies are conducted in accordance with the sponsor’s standards as well as with federal regulations and state of the art podiatric care.lab

During 2008 our practice conducted two studies for different medications being investigated for the indication of toenail fungus. We were also part of an exclusive group of five practices nationwide to participate in a medical device study for the treatment of heel pain associated with plantar fasciitis.

We currently are conducting two research studies regarding the use of a topical medication for the treatment of toenail fungus. We are looking for people who have fungus on at least one big toenail. The minimum age for participation is 18. FOR MORE INFORMATION OR TO SCHEDULE A SCREENING APPOINTMENT, PLEASE CALL 214-691-0760 OR CLICK ON THE “REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT” BUTTON BELOW.
